Credo Advisory signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) on August 30, 2023, to improve the communications skills of government functionaries in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across Nigeria, effectively bridging the information gap between the government and the public.
BPSR is a government agency established in 2004 to drive reforms in public service and ensure consistent adherence to its reforms through monitoring and evaluation. The training will empower government officials, especially information officers, to understand their roles and responsibilities and engage appropriately and effectively with the public.
“We are excited to be BPSR’s technical partner in this initiative to upskill MDAs personnel across the country. We will leverage our expertise in strategic communications to identify and assess trainees’ needs and develop communication training programmes according to international best practices.” Credo Advisory’s Communications Manager, Mr. Sanumioluwa Dawodu said.
Credo Advisory, through its Creative Studio, will also develop public campaign strategies and materials to support BPSR as the agency advocates for buy-in at the sub-national level.
Expressing BPSR’s expectations for the partnership, the Director General of the agency, Mr. Dasuki Arabi, said that he looked forward to both organisations partnering to realise the objectives of the MOU. “Capacity building is the way forward, we have a lot of information officers that are unable to deliver their tasks effectively. I look forward to a very robust relationship with Credo Advisory to strengthen the communications abilities of our government information officers and its support in improving the visibility of the Bureau’s successes and activities.”
