Credo Advisory CEO Represents Nigeria at the ESMAP Knowledge Exchange Forum in Geneva

Awele Okigbo, Credo Advisory CEO, represented Nigeria as a panellist at the World Bank’s Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) Knowledge Exchange Forum on Energy Subsidy Reform. The forum was a platform for professionals from various countries to share experiences and insights on energy reforms. The event was hosted by the World Bank’s Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) and State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in Geneva on October 30th and 31st, 2018.

Credo’s presentation “Communicating Power Sector Reform in Nigeria” was based on leading the Power Sector Recovery Programme (PSRP) public awareness campaign. In her presentation, Awele Okigbo explained the socio-political context of power reforms in Nigeria and emphasized the importance of data-driven communications as well as trust building through public engagement activities.

The ESMAP forum brought together representatives from energy, finance, social protection, planning ministries and energy regulators from selected developing countries. Participants at the forum included experts from the World Bank Group, International Energy Agency, International Monetary Fund, Global Subsidies Initiative and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
