Fostering Opportunities for Women in STEM

On January 29, 2025, Credo Advisory supported the STEM Marketplace event in Abuja, in collaboration with the Women on the Grid Hub (WotGH), an initiative under the United Kingdom Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (UKNIAF) dedicated to advancing women’s participation and leadership in the electricity sector.

The event featured a unique “vendor” format, where accomplished female executives shared their experiences and insights with female STEM undergraduates and early-career professionals. This interactive approach encouraged open dialogue about the challenges and opportunities within the industry, emphasising the importance of diversity and inclusion in STEM fields.

With over 60 participants, the event created a vibrant atmosphere for learning and connection. Attendees engaged in discussions that highlighted the critical need for women in leadership roles in the energy sector, sharing best practices and inspiration for the next generation of female leaders.

Credo Advisory played a pivotal role in enhancing event communications by providing content development, media consulting, and collateral design services, ensuring maximum impact and engagement.

“As a strategic communications firm with extensive experience in energy communications, we recognise the importance of increasing women’s representation in this sector. Our commitment to empowering women in STEM aligns with the broader goal of promoting gender equality in the workforce.” Sumayyah Ibrahim, Communications Specialist at Credo Advisory.

As a firm dedicated to Sustainable Development Goal #5 (Gender Equality), Credo Advisory continues to support initiatives that empower women and foster inclusive growth.
