Credo Advisory provided public relations support for the Presidential Commissioning of the Ariaria Independent Power Project (IPP) in Aba, Abia State. The IPP project in Aba is part of the Energizing Economies Initiative funded by the World Bank and implemented by Nigeria’s Rural Electrification Agency. The commissioning held on Tuesday, January 29th, 2019.
Speaking at the event, his excellency, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, stated that the IPP project in Ariaria has electrified 4000 shops since the inception of the Federal Governments Energizing Economies Initiative (EEI) in 2017. He further stated that the EEI aims to power an additional 33,000 shops, empower 340,000 micro, small and medium enterprises and create 2,500 jobs in 2019 while serving over 18 million Nigerians through rapid deployment of off-grid electricity solutions.
Credo Advisory designed and implemented communication activities and materials for this commissioning including; flex banners, posters, pole banners, event programme, etc., that highlight the achievements of the project to garner stakeholder support for the EEI. Credo also developed promotional videos for the event using testimonials from beneficiaries which was aired on traditional and digital media platforms.
Participants at the commissioning included; Executive Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Managing Director/CEO, Rural Electrification Agency, Mrs. Damilola Ogunbiyi, CEO Ariaria Market Energy Solutions Limited, Chairman, Ariaria International Market Shop Owners Association, Ubani Nkaginieme, Ariaria Market Traders and other key stakeholders.
