SID-US 2023: Sponsoring Engagement in Development

Credo Advisory sponsored the Society for International Development (SID-US) annual conference on May 24, 2023, in Washington, D.C., USA. SID-US is a global network of individuals and organisations focused on sustainable economic, social, and political development.

The conference-themed “Power Shift: Defining the next decade of Development” convened over 1,500 attendees, 100 sponsors, 90 industry speakers, and 18 breakout sessions. International development partners like Chemonics, United States Agency for International Development, Palladium, Oxford Policy Management and Deloitte were in attendance. The event sessions included engaging discussions on health, climate action, insecurity, migration, food security, and gender empowerment.

Credo’s representatives connected with international development practitioners from various sectors and backgrounds at the conference and on the virtual platform.

Whether trying to reverse climate change, advance energy transition, promote food security or elicit youth engagement, it is about the people most affected. Strip away all the technical jargon and funding instruments, which are still important, and let us remember the communities struggling with famine and the pregnant women without prenatal care. We must continue being intentional about localising our collective development efforts.Awele Okigbo, CEO/Founder of Credo Advisory, shared after the successful conference.

Credo congratulates the Society for International Development, United States (SID-US) for an outstanding event that facilitated a crucial discourse expected to shape the next decade of international development.
