Credo Advisory is pleased to support the United Kingdom Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (UKNIAF) and the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) at a targeted knowledge-transfer session on financial modelling, public-private partnership (PPP) structuring, commercial negotiation and investor relations for transmission expansion, held in Abuja on 27 March 2026.
Nigeria’s electricity transmission network requires significant investment to enhance grid stability, reduce network losses, and extend access to underserved and unserved regions. Following the Electricity Act (2023) and the formal establishment of NISO in 2024, implementing the Transmission Expansion Plan (TEP) has become central to unlocking Nigeria’s power sector potential. Closing the investment gap requires institutional capacity to design, negotiate and manage bankable public-private partnerships.
Building on its strategic role in NISO’s establishment, UKNIAF developed an investment framework focused on unlocking private-sector capital for transmission infrastructure. The one-day session convened 20 participants, including NISO’s executive management team and nominees from the System Planning Directorate, and equipped them with the technical, financial, legal and commercial capabilities required to operationalise the framework, with focused modules on PPP fundamentals; financial modelling within the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI); payment security and credit enhancement; and procurement strategy.
As strategic communications partner, Credo provided photography, videography and content creation services, ensuring the session’s outcomes were captured and curated for social media dissemination and engagement across intended audiences.
The session strengthened NISO’s institutional capacity to articulate investment-ready commercial models and supported integration of the framework into NISO’s strategic plan and institutional structure.
“UKNIAF has done meaningful work in strengthening the senior management staff at NISO, and we are honoured to support building the leadership required to drive transmission expansion under a public-private partnership structure,” said Dr. Obinna Onuoha, Senior Communications Specialist at Credo Advisory.
Credo Advisory remains committed to supporting infrastructure reform, private-sector investment and sustainable energy development across Nigeria.
