Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria

Credo Advisory provided strategic communications support to the Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRiNG) programme for its Validation and Dissemination Workshop on Farming and Pastoral Practices, held on May 6, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria.

The workshop convened stakeholders from government, civil society, traditional institutions, international partners, and local communities to engage with the findings of three critical studies on grazing reserves and stock routes, pastoralist livelihoods, and farmer experiences in conflict-affected states across Nigeria’s North-East, North-West, and North-Central regions. These studies provide evidence on the drivers of land-related conflict and propose practical pathways to build peace through inclusive and conflict-sensitive land governance.

The SPRiNG programme, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and implemented by Tetra Tech, is a four-year initiative aimed at supporting locally led efforts to prevent conflict, reduce violence, and strengthen resilience in fragile communities. By addressing root causes of tension, such as weak natural resource management, land pressure, and marginalisation, SPRiNG works with stakeholders across sectors to foster stability and peace.

Recognising the vital role peace plays in Nigeria’s development, Credo Advisory proudly supported SPRiNG by developing the event’s communications strategy, producing digital materials, managing media coverage, creating social media content, and providing on-site visibility and stakeholder engagement support.

“Peacebuilding begins with listening, and effective communication ensures those voices are heard where it matters most. The SPRiNG programme is tackling the underlying issues that disrupt lives and livelihoods, and we are proud to play a part in helping those efforts reach the right people,” said Hannah Egya, Communications Specialist at Credo Advisory. “Through effective storytelling and clear messaging, we help turn evidence into action and dialogue into solutions.”

Credo Advisory remains committed to amplifying the voices and solutions contributing to a more peaceful, resilient, and inclusive Nigeria.
