Credo Advisory partnered with the Society for International Development (SID-US) for its 2024 annual conference on April 26, 2024 in Washington, DC, USA. As a communications partner, Credo Advisory provided strategic communications support to promote the conference through various visibility materials that highlighted the conference’s key theme, while also extending the event’s reach through social media engagement. SID-US is a membership-driven organisation that convenes individuals from diverse backgrounds and career stages in a neutral forum to discuss significant international development issues.
The 2024 conference, themed “World in Crisis: Sparks of Hope,” convened over 1,500 attendees, 100 sponsors, and 90+ industry speakers, and featured 18 breakout sessions. These sessions addressed critical topics such as climate change, food insecurity, geopolitical instability, localisation, youth engagement, gender inequality, and more.
One of the distinguished speakers at the event was Ambassador Mark Green, who previously served as the United States Agency for International Development Administrator and is currently the President and CEO of the Wilson Center. In his opening plenary address, he stressed the significance of implementing long-term development strategies and warned against inadequate funding for such programs.
Credo’s Founder/CEO, Awele Okigbo, participated in the conference and networked with other development professionals. She remarked, “The conference served as a strategic platform for development experts from diverse backgrounds to converge, share knowledge, and explore solutions to pressing global challenges.” Being a participant and partner at the conference reflects Credo Advisory’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs,) focusing on initiatives that promote sustainable solutions for global challenges.
