Leveraging Digital Support With The Power Sector Communications Team

Credo Advisory facilitated the monthly Power Sector Communications Team (PSCT) meeting on October 9th, 2019. The meeting was hosted by the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) a member of the PSCT. Objectives of the forum were to appropriate the administrative structure of the team, align on power sector agency activities and discuss communication initiatives to improve media relations within the sector.

PSCT members were enjoined to leverage digital channels to improve internal communications amongst agencies and amplify engagement. In line with this, Credo Advisory proposed the incorporation of a closed Facebook group to the PSCT, to encourage reporting across the MDA on events, landmarks, milestones and key power sector updates.

General Manager, Public Affairs, NEMSA, Mr. Uche Anike while giving the welcome remarks, commended the team’s efforts in integrating communication activities. Representatives of each power sector MDA updated the team on ongoing projects, achievements, challenges and activities of their organizations.

Other participants at the meeting were communications professionals from the Federal Ministry of Power (FMP), Nigeria Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO) and Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

Credo Advisory provides technical assistance to the PSCT which is currently under the administration of the Senior Special Adviser (Media & Communications) to the Minister of Power.
