With a robust legal background and extensive public policy expertise, Nabila Aguele shines as a dynamic advocate for gender equality and sustainable development. Her career has been dedicated to the intersection of fiscal policy and social impact, leveraging data and narrative-based advocacy to shift societal norms.
Nabila holds esteemed positions as a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development and a Senior Fellow with the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET). Previously, she made significant strides as a Special Adviser to Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, playing a pivotal role in developing Nigeria’s Integrated National Financing Framework to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Her efforts also include championing gender-responsive fiscal policies and budgets, leading to the establishment of Nigeria’s gender-responsive budget. Beyond her policy work, Nabila lends her expertise to several influential organizations. She serves on the boards of Women for Women International, INSEAD, and Girl Rising, where she is Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of the Nominating & Governance Committee.
Nabila’s academic credentials include a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, a Juris Doctor from the American University Washington College of Law, and an MBA from INSEAD, where she graduated as Valedictorian. Outside her professional achievements, she is a proud mother of three vibrant children under eight and is an acrylic artist.
