Power Sector Recovery Programme (PSRP) Media Engagement Workshop

Credo Advisory provided technical assistance to the PSRP Implementation Monitoring Team (PSRP IMT) with various communications deliverables and stakeholder engagement activities. This included the development of communications products to foster knowledge building and support on the Power Sector Recovery Programme.

The PSRP Media Engagement Workshop – organized by the Power Sector Communications Team (PSCT) in collaboration with the PSRP IMT, was conducted to convey the goals and objectives of the Power Sector Recovery Programme (PSRP) and provided a forum for an interactive session on the recovery programme’s objectives with the media. It was held on November 15th, 2017 at the Power House in Abuja.

The workshop initiative aligns with the PSRP communication strategy that includes holding quarterly capacity building workshops with energy reporters to assure accurate reportage and knowledge building on power sector activities. Present at the workshop were Honourable Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola; Special Adviser to Minister of Power, Louis Edozien; Minister of State 1, Mustapha Baba Shehuri, Minister of State 2, Suleiman Hassan; Vice Chairman, Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, Sanusi Garba; Managing Director, Rural Electrification Agency & PSRP IMT Coordinator, Damilola Ogunbiyi; World Bank Country Director, Rachid Benmessaoud; members of the press, and other key power sector stakeholders.

Speaking on the Federal Government’s commitment to the PSRPthe Minister of Power, Works & Housing, Babatunde Fashola SAN stated: “If we understand the problems of Nigeria’s power sector, the PSRP is the solution”. He asked participants not to doubt government’s commitment to the PSRP as the commitment is evident in the constitution of a PSRP Implementation Monitoring Team (PSRP IMT) that reports directly to His Excellency the Vice President.
